Staff Needs

Teachers:

2025-2026 school year​ needs:
  • Secondary English teacher - native English speaker preferred
  • Assistant to the Administrator - must have previous experience as a teacher
Qualified individuals are welcome to apply for periods of 5-10 months or longer. Over the years, God has used recent college graduates, experienced teachers, and retired educators to meet the need. Even if you are not available for the 2025-2026 school year, it is never too early to start the application process. If you don’t see an open position that combines your skills and interests, feel free to communicate with us to start a conversation about how God could use you here. 
 
Our teachers and staff raise their financial support to serve at GLCA. However, we sometimes provide free housing and a vehicle to use for first-year teachers, some restrictions apply.

Currently, GLCA serves 39 students from nine different countries.  Most of our students are the children of missionaries living and ministering in and around Lisbon. Others are international students from unbelieving families. GLCA has been staffed by missionaries for over 40 years. While each teacher must secure their own funding (we offer no salary) in order to keep tuition affordable for the missionary families we serve, the school sometimes provides housing and the use of a vehicle for qualified first-year teachers.

​All staff must:
  1. Be committed to a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
  2. Be involved in a local church.
  3. Hold a four-year degree, verified by transcript.
  4. Hold a valid teaching certificate or college degree for the position for which application is made. **
  5. Love kids and have a team player mentality.
  6. Come prepared to enjoy the challenges and joys of a wonderful, cross-cultural ministry!
**While we desire that all of our staff have a valid teaching credential, the School Board may make exceptions to the above requirements after careful review on an individual basis. Please contact the school for further detail.

Head north on IC22 toward Odivelas (follow signs toward A9)

Continue straight until you get to a circle.
Go straight through the circle and head up the hill toward the pink building on the left at the next intersection.​
