Dear Parents:
We want to make sure all of you realize that GLCA will be closed until April 13th due to the government's announcement last Thursday evening. However, over the next three weeks, our teachers will be uploading lessons and assignments for your children to complete. This is important so that we are able to finish the school year with students prepared to move ahead to the next grade in the fall. Spring Break will be observed April 6-10th as previously announced on our 2019-2020 school calendar.
Because all of us are new to the dynamic of online education, we ask for your prayers and patience. It might take a few days to find the proper balance and pace to make it work. Below are a few guidelines that will help your family:
- Each student should log in daily (Monday - Friday) to the online learning platform their teachers have communicated. We recommend choosing a consistent time of day that works for your family. Teachers will be able to confirm who has signed in each day and will keep their own classroom attendance. If your child is ill and cannot log-in, please email us and let us know that they will not be able to complete the day’s assignments.
- Assignments should be completed in the time frame that the teacher has posted. It will require daily school work. Please don’t put off assignments as it will only get more difficult if your child has to “catch up.”
- If your child has questions or does not understand assignments, please get in touch with the teacher as soon as possible. The longer you wait to ask questions, the more behind your student will become.

Each of you already knows that we are a school that emphasizes faith and trust in God, our Creator. We want to continue to proclaiming His truth even as we switch our teaching to this online format. Please join us in praying for our staff as well as for our students and their families.
